How can you refer clients to Pet Hospice?
- Clients can schedule services online through our website. This can include scheduling an appointment while still in the hospital, allowing a plan for support to be put in place prior to leaving your care, providing peace of mind for everyone.
- Clients can schedule services by calling or texting (800) 717-5054. Our Care Team is available 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm.

- Should you wish to discuss a patient’s care prior to referral, hospital staff can call our team directly (800) 717-5054.
When should a patient and family be referred to Pet Hospice?
When a patient is first diagnosed with a life-limiting disease or at the first sign of decline and a family wishes for Comfort Care services. Examples may include:

- Progressive diseases such as arthritis, kidney disease, or heart failure
- Incurable illnesses, such as cancer
- Long-term disability such as poor mobility, neurological disorders, or cognitive dysfunction
- Clients who do not wish to pursue additional diagnostics, surgery, or other therapies but want comfort-oriented care
- Clients who do wish to pursue additional treatments, such as chemotherapy, but would benefit from additional support
- Progressive diseases such as arthritis, kidney disease, or heart failure
- When a family wishes for an in-depth conversation about their pet’s quality of life or are struggling with the decision of when to euthanize
- When clients would prefer an in-home euthanasia for their pet
